Like most students, Amy had to write stories in elementary school. But Amy’s teachers always received something extra from her - pictures. Amy believed a picture could tell the story better than words.

Amy brings this same philosophy to creating workspaces that communicate and amplify the brand of her client. In fact, it was her passion for storytelling through design that motivated Amy to switch from an architecture to an interior architecture program at Washington State University so she could help tell the stories of many different companies.

Now, as principal at FS Design Group, and with nearly 30 years of experience in her industry, Amy is responsible for organizing and coordinating external and internal teams to realize a space design that reflects the culture of the user. She is adept at understanding the motivations and requirements of each team player, which helps her keep projects moving forward. Amy finds her own success through her clients’ eyes by delivering their specific visions for their workspaces.

Before her tenure with FS Design Group, Amy worked with a large furniture dealership, where she learned the art of workplace assessment. She ran a design and project management team at a young age, and in that role, she demonstrated a measurable level of improvement to profits by creating intelligent processes and a dynamic approach to design, resulting in the firm’s most profitable year. She also helped guide her team through a merger with another firm.

Amy supports others in her industry through her work with CREW San Diego, a membership organization dedicated to promoting, educating and supporting professionals in the field of commercial real estate, where she currently serves as co-chair of the Education Committee. In that role, she helps determine and engage topical speakers for luncheons, leadership breakfasts and networking events, all of which support women advancing their careers in commercial real estate.

While not working, Amy, along with her husband, daughter and son, like to ski, work on projects around their home in UTC and spend time with their pets. Amy also enjoys reading and learning new skills, and she has spent years volunteering with RepresentUs, a group focused on reforming elections to ensure they are free, fair and reflect the voice of the voters.
