Amy Tobia Honored as an SDBJ 2026 Influencer in Commercial Real Estate
Recognized for shaping innovative workplace, healthcare and senior living environments through interior design leadership and community impact
Amy Tobia was recognized by the San Diego Business Journal as one of its 2026 Leaders of Influence in Commercial Real Estate for her leadership in workplace, healthcare and senior living interior design. The honor also reflects her industry involvement, mentorship and community advocacy efforts that continue to make a lasting impact across San Diego.
FS Design Group is proud to have Principal Amy Tobia included as one of the San Diego Business Journal’s 2026 Leaders of Influence in Commercial Real Estate.
The Journal recognized Amy for her track record of leading teams to create thoughtful and innovative workplace, healthcare and senior living environments.
Design for Senior Living
Amy’s approach of incorporating hospitality-inspired aesthetics to create warm, inviting and functional environments for seniors garnered her panelist spot at the 2025 Environments for Aging Conference.
Design for Healthcare
She also helped grow a robust healthcare business line that encompasses physician’s offices, dental clinics, optometric offices, specialty care and outpatient surgery clients, in addition to FS Design Group’s senior care and Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) work.
Design for Workplace
For workplace spaces, Amy led her team in designing for office spaces, tenant improvement (TI), R&D and retail. In the post-COVID era, Amy and her team designed hub offices for numerous prominent companies that relied on her expertise to help them redefine what a successful office space looks like in a hybrid work world. She spoke on this topic at the Globe Women of Influence Conference in Denver last year while accepting her Women of Influence in Real Estate award.
Giving Back
Amy’s deep involvement in her industry also factored into her win. She is a former co-chair and current sponsor of CREW San Diego, a NAIOP sponsor and a member of Business For Good and the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
Beyond design, Amy is a dedicated volunteer with Represent Us. She spearheaded the development of a campaign finance dashboard for the City of San Diego that is being expanded this year in partnership with The League of Women Voters and wrote the script for an Emmy Award-winning informational video on campaign finance reform.
Amy’s influence on our staff, our clients and our communities will make a positive impact for many years to come. Congratulations to Amy and all the other 2026 Leaders of Influence in Commercial Real Estate!
