Case Closed: Wingert’s New Law Firm Space is Downright Appealing
Design Reflects Changing Space Requirements of Law Offices
Law firm Wingert Grebing Brubaker & Juskie LLP has a beautiful new, 8,000-square-foot home in Regent Properties’ 2 Columbia downtown San Diego building. The Wingert team had a great vision for their post-pandemic workspace, and we were honored to design it.
They were excited to do something nice for their people, and that kind of sentiment is always contagious. The project was a joy to work on.
Wingert Grebing is in growth mode and some employees work from home for part of the time so we helped them provide the right mix of office and workstation spaces, including hoteling spaces for this transition.
Both the efficiencies learned during the pandemic and the general trend toward digitization left Wingert Grebing with much less need for physical storage and library space than previously. This allowed us to open up their workspace for more natural light and an aesthetically pleasing environment. We could also include more amenity spaces.
For example, a wellness room is available for private phone calls, nursing mothers, meditation and other types of respite. The firm also nabbed a prime fourth floor space in the building, which came with a very large outdoor balcony patio that runs the length of the firm’s indoor space affording them the opportunity to step outside for a break or a meeting.
Back inside the office, the paralegals have custom-designed desks with specialty millwork. Every law firm needs adequate meeting and “war room” space, and with less need for storage, we were able to easily accommodate these needs, even with a smaller footprint than the law firm occupied previously.
Despite the challenge of a City of San Diego permitting system that was transitioning to an online model, the teamwork between our firm, Wingert Grebing and Regent Properties, as well as representatives from the City, allowed us to deliver the project on time and on budget. Another important player in that formula was the construction firm, Trivista Commercial Contractors.
If you ever need to sit down with a lawyer who can help you with anything from complex civil matters, professional liability defense and personal injury law to real estate development and construction matters or employment issues, we recommend the talented legal team at Wingert Grebing and their beautiful space!
