FS Design Group Welcomes Designer Armando Lao to the Team

We’re happy to announce that Armando Lao has joined our team as an interior designer!

After 14 years working in sales and healthcare, Armando realized he wanted to pursue a more creative career. While getting his degree from The Art Institute of California for interior design, he received the Outstanding Graduate Award for the class of 2017. He also served as president for the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) student chapter at The Art Institute.

Armando worked in high-end residential design while in school and was then recruited by a commercial design firm focusing on optometry design. There, he spent four years establishing and building the firm’s interior design department.

Now at FS Design Group, Armando’s role includes communicating design goals in a way that contractors, builders, and clients alike are able to understand the project’s intent. While this is done differently at every phase of the project, Armando’s creative and business-focused background allows him to communicate clearly with all team members to convey design concepts and move the project forward.

Our clients already enjoy working with Armando because he makes each process go simply and seamlessly. He also ensures that everyone involved in the project has a comprehensive understanding of the process, even if they don’t have a background in design.

Outside of work, Armando is an amateur woodworker and has designed furniture for years. He is passionate about music and sings and plays acoustic guitar. He also enjoys rock climbing and bouldering. He lives in Bonita with his wife, their three children and three dogs.
