Transforming Healthcare Spaces: How Boutique Design Elevated New Plastic Surgery Office

Rejuvenate Plastic Surgery has a new look

Healthcare offices and facilities are some of the places where design can have the most profound and important impact. We’re pleased to share about one of our most recent healthcare design projects.

Dr. Rishi Jindal, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon serving the San Diego community through his practice Rejuvenate Plastic Surgery

After establishing his own practice at the beginning of 2024, he wanted a medical office that would reflect his high standards and service. His design vision was “boutique,” as an alternative to what he feels is the “big box” vibe of many healthcare interiors and buildings.

FS Design Group was a great match for Dr. Jindal’s medical office design needs. Our healthcare interior design portfolio includes countless examples of how we take cues from hospitality and spa design to appoint healthcare spaces while promoting healing and calm through thoughtful, human-centered and safe spaces.

In his published paper, “Evidence-Based Environmental Design for Improving Medical Outcomes,” researcher Roger Ulrich, now professor of Architecture at the Center for Healthcare Building Research at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden, described the relationship between design and health outcomes.

He wrote: “The key factor motivating awareness of facility design has been mounting scientific evidence that environmental characteristics influence patient health outcomes. Many studies have shown that well-designed environments can, for instance, reduce anxiety, lower blood pressure, and lessen pain.”

To create a positive experience for Dr. Jindal’s clients and staff from start to finish, we began with a one-of-a-kind reception area, using 3-D origami wood panels from Wood-Skim and a custom, lit sign. We extended the modern, sophisticated design palette through the bright and open lobby, the nurse station, treatment rooms and restrooms.

We rounded out our design palette with soft, timeless colors and expanded our use of elegant textures.

“The design team used the direction I gave them and came up with ideas that worked out very well,” said Dr. Jindal. He added that the design creates a space that is “…more inviting and casual than a bigger practice.”

We were honored to once again team up with medical architecture firm Ray Fox & Associates for this project. Dr. Jindal and his staff take very good, personalized care of their patients, and now their space, located near the I-805 and SR-52 interchange, conveys that message, too. We are excited for the future of Rejuvenate Plastic Surgery.
