Staff Spotlight: Operations Manager Sam Cedeno

We count ourselves lucky at FS Design Group to have a team of action-oriented doers who genuinely admire one another. In that spirit, we’d like to shine our staff spotlight on Sam Cedeno.

As operations manager, Sam works hard to ensure that FS Design Group’s designers can spend their days doing what they do best —designing, of course. Sam’s diverse business experience gives her the skills and know-how to oversee our busy firm’s operations. She holds a bachelor’s degree from National University in Business Administration and is an experienced executive assistant previously supporting five shipyard executives concurrently.

Sam honed her communications and motivational skills as a Pilates instructor and was proud to be a two-time employee of the month winner at her previous workplace. Her breadth of experience and problem-solving skills have allowed her to tackle the wide variety of tasks critical to taking care of the FS Design team and our clients.

As important as her qualifications, Sam is a perfect fit at FS Design Group because of her personality. She has a bubbly-but-direct demeanor, overlayed with a quick wit and a deep commitment to making sure our team and clients are happy.

Sam is never idle. She didn’t hesitate to take charge of the accounting transition that was underway at FS Design Group when she joined the firm. She played an instrumental role in setting up a new project management software program to increase efficiency and simplify project management.

Sam’s duties include overseeing accounting, payroll, insurance, human resources and IT to ensure the business functions efficiently and properly. She also assists with scheduling, travel plans and coordinating with clients and vendors.

Originally a New Englander, Sam now lives in Chula Vista with her husband, two daughters and one son, as well as their2 shorty bulls dogs. With all three of their kids dedicated to softball or T-ball, Sam serves on the board of a youth softball league. You can find her most weekends at their neighborhood ball fields or the Padres games.
